Terms of Service

1. What SmallMoves is

SmallMoves is a marketplace platform that connects people who need local hauling, moving, junk removal, furniture moves, and trailer/boat towing ("Customers") with independent vehicle owners who offer those services ("Haulers"). SmallMoves is not a moving company, carrier, or employer of Haulers. Haulers are independent operators who set their own rates, schedules, and service areas.

2. Payments

Haulers pay SmallMoves a flat monthly listing fee. That is the only charge SmallMoves makes. Customers pay nothing to SmallMoves. Payment for each haul is arranged and made directly between the Customer and the Hauler, outside the platform. SmallMoves does not process, hold, escrow, or guarantee payment for any job, and is not a party to the transaction between Customer and Hauler.

3. Your account

• You must be at least 18 and provide accurate information.
• You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping your password secure.
• We may suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, harm other users, or misuse the platform.

4. Haulers

• Haulers must hold a valid driver's licence and legally required insurance for the services they offer, and must complete verification before their listing appears in search.
• Verification is a document check. It is not an endorsement, guarantee, or warranty of any Hauler's work.
• Haulers are solely responsible for their vehicles, their conduct, compliance with local laws (including licensing and dump/disposal regulations), and any tax obligations on their earnings.
• The monthly listing fee renews automatically until cancelled. You can cancel anytime from your profile; your listing stays live until the end of the paid period. Fees already paid are non-refundable except where required by law.

5. Customers

• Describe your job honestly — weight, access, stairs, hazards. Haulers quote based on what you tell them.
• Agree on the price and payment method with your Hauler before the job.
• You hire Haulers at your own judgment. Reviews and verification badges are aids, not guarantees.

6. Prohibited

• Hazardous materials, illegal goods, or anything requiring permits the Hauler does not hold.
• Harassment, discrimination, fraud, fake reviews, or circumventing the platform to avoid verification.
• Scraping, reverse engineering, or interfering with the service.

7. Disputes between users

Disputes about a job — price, damage, no-shows — are between the Customer and the Hauler. We encourage both sides to resolve issues directly and may, at our discretion, review reports and take account-level action, but SmallMoves is not an arbitrator and does not compensate for losses arising from jobs.

8. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, SmallMoves and its owners are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for the acts or omissions of any Customer or Hauler. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.

9. Changes

We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a new date. Continued use after changes means you accept them.
